October’s wellness event at Whole Body Fitness located in Brookville, Ohio
will be discussing toxin free beauty care and will be presented by our Yoga instructor Danielle.
Danielle states,”I believe that God created our earth and our bodies to coexist together in a specific way that He designed. Our modern world has strayed far from this, and in turn our bodies are struggling to adapt.
If we lessen the processed foods we eat and the products we use containing toxins not meant for our bodies to absorb, we will be allowing our bodies to do what they already know how to do – thrive!
The mind, body, and spirit are all connected and we must take care of each part.”.
Benefits of using chemical free skin care products
[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″ center=”no” class=””] When looking for true chemical free skin care products you must read the ingredients. Just because the label says “natural and  organic, but not all natural products are organic, or even 100 percent natural.”. According to an article, “Benefits of Using Organic and Natural Skincare” written by Brianne Nemiroff , “Major brands are catching on to the fact to that consumers want natural and organic skincare. Without even changing the formulas, many are slapping a “natural” or “organic” sticker when it’s not. If it says “natural,” read the label fully. If it says “organic,” make sure it’s labeled USDA certified organic. While major corporations may want you to stick to the brands you’ve always been exposed to in magazines and on television, it’s time to treat your body with respect by switching to what it really needs: natural and organic skincare.”. The term organic means “If the product is USDA certified organic, that means it is made of 95 percent or more of organic ingredients derived from plant sources (See Documents). All of these ingredients were grown without pesticides, bioengineered genes, or petroleum-based fertilizers, which could be toxic to the environment. Also, these ingredients were farmed using organic farming methods that recycle sources and promote biodiversity. Natural products are simply derived from natural sources without added synthetic compounds.”  [/su_column]

When products are made naturally and organically they will smell better, like they were meant to. ‘Keep an eye out for chemicals that act as a fragrance such as limonene, a liquid that gives off an orange-like smell.”. Another way you benefit from going the organic route is your skin will be softer. “Did you know that many drugstore and luxury brands add drying agents to products such as moisturizers, lip balm, and conditioner? If you actually want your products to moisturize, make sure they say “sulfate-free.”.  Your skin might clear up. “The reason this is a “might” is because everyone’s tolerance varies for different ingredients, both natural and unnatural. You might break out using only toxic makeup and switching to organic makeup might be your cure.”. People can request to join Danielle’s Facebook Group to learn more about the importance of using chemical free skin care products at https://www.facebook.com/groups/243368206390471/?multi_permalinks=285867782140513%2C285604895500135%2C285519578842000&notif_id=1536584900255995&notif_t=group_activity [/su_column][/su_row]

[su_dropcap]I[/su_dropcap]am Erika the owner of WholeBodyFitness Center, through the years and by trial and error I and my family have found there is a definite correlation between eating the “whole” foods and the health of our bodies.

Your body is like a car if we take care of the engine, putting the proper oil, gas, etc. in it our car will run well but if we don’t it can’t perform as it was made to. So too, are our bodies. Your body is the engine and our food is what goes in the engine. The different foods are equivalent to the different types of oil, gas, etc. If we put the wrong oil in the car over time it hurts our engine and it fails. Likewise, our bodies. If we put the wrong food in our body it hurts us, ex. “I don’t feel well”, and over time the body will fail.

This WholeBodyFitness blog is for you and is dedicated to teaching you what foods are good for your body, which are not, and why. Also, other topics will involve exercise, skin care, etc.

Our 24 hour gym, WholeBodyFitness Center, is Brookville, Ohio. This blog will focus the importance of knowing the difference between foods made with additives and preservatives and “Clean Foods“ foods with no additives and preservatives or “Real Food”. In addition, we will primarily highlight local businesses in and around Brookville, Ohio that offer good, healthy foods, “Whole Foods”.

We, WholeBodyFitness, are partnering up with this local farm, Tree Hill Farms  “Real Food Made Simple”, so we can help offer good quality meat and eventually produce to the community and our members.

We also have a smaller local farm coming out now on Tuesdays from 5-7 and they set up their produce stand out on our sidewalk and sell to the community as well as our members. They are Narrow Way Farm and they offer a 10% discount to our members also.
